Ethnicity is based on the following categorization:

American Indian or Alaska Native: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment. Asian: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent, including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam. Black or African American: A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa.
Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands. White: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.
The student must provide proof of liquid assets sufficient to pay for the entire first year of study and living expenses. Athletes who will receive an athletic scholarship may deduct the amount of scholarship from the total cost of attendance and submit evidence of financial resources for the remaining balance. Please note that the total amount provided should be for the appropriate student type (ESL, Undergraduate, Graduate).
All F-1 students are required to provide documentation of financial support before an I-20 document can be issued.
The public agency (embassy, home government, public institution, religious organization, etc.) must provide written verification that the expenses listed in the chart above will be paid for. Sponsorship statements should reflect the semester and year of the application.
The sponsor MUST PROVIDE A BANK STATEMENT showing the availability of the estimated student expenses for one school year as listed in the chart above. Please note that the total amount provided should be for the appropriate student type (Undergraduate, Graduate, ESL).
Please mail financial documents to the address below. All financial documents should be stamped or attested by a bank official. Tiffin University will not accept scanned copies.
